A Girl Can Dream A Little

So the life of a first year attorney and his wife is not always easy, financially speaking.  It's probably the biggest misconception when someone finds out Hubs is an attorney - that we're rolling in dough.  We have a lot of things to pay out on, just about as quickly as the money comes in.  (Note: I understand this is also called "being an adult" but these are newer payments that we are adjusting to, aka student loans.)  So I get my fix of all things beautiful, sparkly, designer, etc. from reading blogs.

My point?

I'm thinking of doing a series with a fancy schmancy name like Wish List Wednesday or something equally annoying and yet catchy.  Something where I can devote a weekly post to things I'd love to have if I didn't have things to pay like a mortgage and said student loans.  Because, c'mon, a girl can drool dream a little, right?

So I introduce you to a few lovelies I've had my eye on:

A personalized myAgenda in Silver
(or as it is sold out, Carribean Sea)

I love the paisley orange (3rd from left)

This little beauty from Etsy seller, GetNoticed

A nice mix of practical, functional and frivolous.  So tell me, friends.  What have you have your eye on lately?

xoxo

I know a couple of attorney's and have heard the same thing from all of them. It will all be worth it in the end though :)

I have that MomAgenda. I get it every year. It's my lifeline. Make sure to get one when you get a chance!

OH honey, I so so so hear you... I only dipped into my CC debt payment budget for a MomAgenda when HO and I almost "missed" his sister's birthday, overnighted a Harry and David chocolate birthday cake for an obscene amount of money, and then found out the next day that her birthday was actually a MONTH later. Figured the MomAgenda (and it's birthday date tracking capabilities) would be well worth NEVER doing that again.

I'm thinking of starting a girls-only finance club next year, sort of like monthly girls night but we talk money too... Would you be game? You could teach us about Credit Card APRs, etc. ;)

Love you!

Bahaha, everyone assumes that because I am now an attorney, we are rolling in money. Oh my gosh, I wish!!

Like 2% of law students get those jobs that pay six figures out of law school. The rest of us? Not quite so much...

My boyfriend's student loans have just come due and I tell ya...they put a BIG dent in our dollars, so I hear ya!

Yeah, a lot of people make assumptions with some jobs that you get lots of $$ when I think it is hard for everyone right now! Thanks for your sweet compliment on my blog, your blog is beautiful and happy and I always enjoy that in a blog. :) Hmm...I am always wanting Juicy Couture. A little bit of an obsession of mine.

Oh student loans (and other monthly payments) how I hate thee! And hubs is going to grad school next fall so we can add THAT to the list! Love your wishlist and would love to see a regular feature!

those towels are great! love the green and blue. you turned me on to another ring on etsy this year... the diamond one, ring a bell? and now, I have turned into an appreciater of vintage diamond jewelry... preferably rings or earrings, since you ask, lol,

and yes, for the record, student loans are no friend of mine...

I remember thinking I was going to be rolling in $$ when I graduated law school - boy was I wrong! Being an adult is costly, but once you get settled, get a budget and realize that the paycheck will come every other week or so, you'll settle in!

We're in the same boat... we both have good jobs, and we have managed to get on the property ladder which is an achievement, but considering our situation we don't have much spare month to month!!!

Anthropologie has opened a store in london... on my wish list is anything from it!!

xx

Yup, big misconception about attorneys. I feel fortunate now, but this is after having a few years to adjust to the big payments (student loans included) that came with the fancy degree & being an adult generally.

Am I missing something with this MomAgenda blog trend? Don't get me wrong - they look lovely, and I love paper planners, but do they do something magical that other organizers don't?
