My First Blog Award!

I'm so honored to be given my first award...and by two lovely ladies, no less! Big thanks to Sweet Bea and Aliya for thinking of me. When starting this blog, I never imagined I would find such wonderful, accomplished, kind-hearted people out there in the blogosphere who would become such a big part of my life! I feel so blessed to call you all friends.
"Love Ya" Award These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
Thanks again Sweet Bea and Aliya!
And I know I owe you all BIG TIME for being absent over the past 3 weeks (wait, WHAT?! How did that much time slip by?). I have a peace offering pictures for you. Stay tuned!
xoxo

Poker Night

So I get out of a long day of work today and call Hubs who reminds me of Poker Night being held at our house tonight. I already hear one of the gentlemen in the background, dueling Hubs to an intense game of Madden 09. I inform Hubs that I will be going to Lenten church service and dinner with my family. Fast forward to the drive home, post dinner.... Hubs answers in a slightly slurred voice. {Could this be my first warning sign? Yes, but I flew right past it.} He informs me he is going to bed and cannot wait 20 minutes for me to get home. {Second warning sign? Sure! But I take no notice.} I am beyond frustrated, which God love him, he can tell. So he asks me about my day. I start to ramble tell him all about my team, my review, my slight raise in pay...(eh, exciting much!? I emphasize the slight, but I'll take what I can get!) I realize there are no more "uh huhs" coming from the other end of the line. Hmm, no congratulations? What?!? Did the phone cut out? "Honey, hello? Are you there?" At which point I hear my lovely little pups bark in the background. No, Hubs couldn't have possibly.... I pull into the driveway 5 minutes later to two eager pups waiting for me in the laundry room, Hubs in bed with the lights on and phone propped up against his cheek, and about a bazllion empty beer bottles strewn around the kitchen. There is even one in my guest bathroom trash. Whhhaaaatttt!?! I may or may not have poked Hubs until his eyelids fluttered, he said "Yes, I see you" and rolled over burying his head under the pillow. Oh, Poker Night.........

Whirlwind

Hi everyone! Life's been a whirlwind lately for Miss E. The trip to Denver was *awesome* and I can't wait to recap it for you (complete with lovely pics!). I've also gotten an award or two (my first!) along with my first giveaway win thanks to the always-inspiring Coco+Kelley. I will update you on all of this a-sap, I promise! I was catching up on my Reader and came across this post. I am a huge fan of the blog Stuff White People Like and find it hilarious. This one goes out to all my fellow Mad Men fans. If you haven't read it, you must. #123 Mad Men Talk to you all again soon! xoxo Miss E

Rocky Mountain High

This weekend I am so excited to be going to Denver! One of my college roomies moved there a few years back, has met a special someone, and bought a house! A group of us is going to meet up for a weekend of fun and festivities! And when I say fun and festivities, I mean all-out-knock-your-socks-off tour of Denver and all the hot spots. Now I really wish I had our *fabulous* college pics online (guess that was back in the Dark Ages of actual film, gasp!). One of my upcoming projects is to get all of those oldies-but-goodies online so I have them for posterity. Or rather, so my kids can laugh at my college style and bad fashion choices. Whatev... I introduce to you some of my most favorite people in the whole world: They are the absolute best friends a girl could ask for. And I know that I don't say enough how thankful I am that each and every one of you is in my life, that we've been together through thick and thin, and that I cherish every memory we've made. These girls were my family away from home, my sisters throughout college. We had our own jokes, nicknames, sayings. They made my college experience everything and more. So this weekend is about old and new; reminiscing about our past, meeting new loves, and celebrating a great friendship. I love you girls!
